Polar Semiconductor, LLC in Bloomington, MN seeks an industrial engineer to continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes, focusing on capacity, throughput and cost efficiency.
You will work with operators and engineers to optimize labor, equipment and flow, implement lean methods, and drive improvements across production planning, scheduling and performance metrics.
In this role you will continuously evaluate and improve semiconductor manufacturing processes by ensuring that labor, equipment and processes are measured, controlled and operating at optimum capacity.
Engaged with the development, maintenance and communication of the capacity statement associated with the production plan and its future forecasts.
Identify and communicate operational performance, highlighting operational achievements and shortcomings.
Values how manufacturing capacity and operational variation relate to the operational execution of meeting production goals.
Work with natural work groups consisting of operators, equipment and process engineers to improve throughput for critical operations and processes.
Proficient in constraint mitigation with the strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities; reduce cycle time variation, improve production output and predict potential operational shortcomings.
Improve scheduling systems to drive down costs and minimize interruptions while increasing throughput and operational efficiencies.
Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by ensuring that labor, equipment and processes are measured, controlled and operating at optimum efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement through fab observations, experience and knowledge.
Understand process flow, lean manufacturing and labor interaction with material flow, while reducing error and waste.
Assist in manufacturing layout driving optimal space utilization, logistics and work flow, while focusing on the production processes that maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
Requires Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering plus related experience
Experience in lean manufacturing and pull systems
Good knowledge in capacity, productivity, manufacturing process and product costing
Effective communicator—both verbally and written skills, with proven ability to work in a collaborative environment to achieve balanced business objectives
Self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently
Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD skills desire

Salary: $78,000-$98,000 per year (good‑faith estimate)
