Job summary

Sensient Technologies Corporation is seeking a Product Development Scientist to identify new product opportunities, improve line profitability, and manage lifecycles. You’ll drive revenue growth and support the North America color strategy, collaborating with EHS, Quality, Engineering, and Operations to resolve color and process challenges.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the food ingredients or packaged foods.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong manufacturing acumen, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Ability to serve as a critical link between commercial and manufacturing teams, fostering cross-functional alignment and driving business unit growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical customer support to optimize color system performance in food and beverage applications.
• Partner with customer EHS, Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve color and process challenges.
• Lead customer-site plant trials and production support, ensuring successful implementation and performance of finished products.
• Conduct laboratory and production trials to diagnose process issues and develop effective technical solutions.
• Support application projects through formulation development, ingredient recommendations, and optimization of customer products.
• Communicate and demonstrate new color technologies and application solutions to improve product performance and customer outcomes.
• Drive innovation by supporting new product and concept development, evaluating raw materials, and resolving technical customer complaints across Sensient’s food ingredient portfolio.
