Job summary

Sensient Technologies is seeking a Process Development Scientist - Pharma to drive new product opportunities, improve product line profitability, and manage product lifecycles within the Pharmaceutical North American strategy.

This role provides on-site technical support to optimize pharmaceutical and nutraceutical color, flavor, and excipient performance, and requires travel to customer sites 50% or more.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Sciences, or related field.
• Experience with pharmaceutical/nutraceutical manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support to optimize pharmaceutical and nutraceutical color, flavor, and excipients.
• Collaborate with EHS, Quality, Engineering, and Operations to resolve performance issues.
• Support customer plant trials, production runs, and troubleshooting activities.
• Conduct trials to identify and resolve customer process challenges.
• Support customer application projects, including new formulations and product development.
• Demonstrate new technologies and help customers optimize the use of Sensient’s ingredients and excipients.
• Support innovation through new product concepts and raw material evaluations.

This exciting and dynamic role will be a strategic thinker responsible for identifying new product opportunities, improving product line profitability, and managing product lifecycles. You will ultimately be responsible for driving revenue growth and supporting Sensient’s overall Pharmaceutical North American strategy.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide on-site technical support to optimize pharmaceutical and nutraceutical color, flavor, and coating excipients.
• Collaborate with customer teams across EHS, Quality, Engineering, and Operations to resolve performance issues.
• Support customer plant trials, production runs, and troubleshooting activities.
• Conduct trials at Sensient to identify and resolve customer process challenges.
• Support customer application projects, including new formulations and product development.
• Demonstrate new technologies and help customers optimize the use of Sensient’s ingredient and excipient portfolio.
• Support innovation through new product concepts, raw material evaluations, and resolution of technical customer complaint

What you’ll bring:

• College graduate with a degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Sciences, or related technical field.
• Experience with pharmaceutical/nutraceutical manufacturing, particularly in the areas of pharmaceutical and/or nutraceutical ingredients, or pharmaceutical and/or nutraceutical finished goods.
• Must be an analytical leader and self-starter who is seeking upward mobility
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills, strong manufacturing aptitude, and a keen entrepreneurial spirit. The ability to be a crucial link between the commercial and manufacturing teams, ensuring alignment and driving business unit growth.
