Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Product Development Engineering Manager in Earth City, MO. You will oversee vacuum pump and compressor development across locations, mentor engineers, and align engineering work with Sales and Product Management.

Strong leadership and a track record of delivering complex products are essential. The role requires 12+ years in mechanical engineering and 5+ years managing an engineering group, with CAD/FEA/CFD experience and a focus on process excellence.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years managing an Engineering group in Product Development with launching complex products.
  • 12+ years Mechanical Engineering experience including CAD/FEA/CFD and 1-D simulation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and develop a team of engineers, leading development from ideation through SOP for air compressors, diaphragmpumps, and vacuum pumps.
  • Oversee and prioritize resolution of complex product development issues to meet project dates.
  • Lead product development processes and coordinate with PMO.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and R&D leadership on priorities and resources.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Manage workload, performance, and development including recruiting and reviews.

Job Overview

The Product Development Engineering Manager oversees all activities related to the IR brands Thomas, Welch, and ADI forvacuumpumpandcompressordevelopment, across multiple locations. This role is responsible for resource planning, project development planning, growing engineering talent, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The manager serves as the primary interface between development engineering and Sales / Product Management.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor and develop a team of engineers, leading the entire development process from ideation through SOP forair compressors, diaphragmpumps, andvacuumpumps.
  • Oversee and prioritize the resolution of complex product development issues to meet project dates
  • Be a product development process leader.
  • Setup and organize efficient engineering activities in collaboration with PMO
  • Collaborate withmanufacturing, quality, supply chain, and R&D leadership to align on priorities and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to development project deliverables
  • Foster a culture ofcontinuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence within the team.
  • Manage team workload, performance, and professional development, including recruiting, training, and performance reviews.
Requirements
  • BS inMechanicalor Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution required
  • 5+ years managing an Engineering group in Product Development. Must demonstrate specific experience developing and launching complex products.
  • 12+ years ofMechanicalEngineering including deep experience utilizingCAD, FEA, and/or CFD and 1-D simulation tools todesignelectromechanicalfluiddevices

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
  • Availability to travel up to 25 % of the time (e.g., customer visits, training at our technical centers, trade shows, etc.).
