Job summary

Ingersoll Rand’s TriContinent unit in Auburn, CA is seeking a Development Engineer - Mechanical to design and implement mechanical and electromechanical products and sub-systems for syringe pumps and related equipment. The role requires product development experience, materials knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and data acquisition experience, plus proficiency with machine tools.

You will work with other engineers to take concepts to production, create documentation, and evaluate new product

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 4+ years working in design.
  • 2+ years of experience with solid modeling software preferably SolidWorks.
  • Experience doing design layouts and tolerance studies.

Responsibilities

  • Research & Evaluation: Evaluates existing products for re-design, reliability, improved function, or value engineering.
  • Designs precision machined components for fluidic systems.
  • Designs linear mechanical drive systems.
  • Identifies and defines new product requirements.
  • Participates in value engineering initiatives for our division.
  • Production Processing: Support activities to introduce new production, including manufacturability improvements.
  • Design: Create all documentation needed for new or updated products, including drawings, BOMs, product quality documents.
  • Testing: Coordinates all product test activities. Builds and tests prototypes.
  • Work directly with other engineers to design and develop quality products.
  • Product designs and design layouts are developed from ideas, sketches and verbal instruction.
  • Take product design from concept to production.
  • Responsible for timely, efficient, and quality execution of the assigned tasks.
  • Create finished drawings of parts and assemblies.
  • Execution of ECO (Engineering Change Order) documentation changes.
  • Work with vendors, manufacturing, and engineering to procure parts and build prototypes.
  • Develop schedules and time estimates for product design and modification.
  • Write project reports such as project status reports

Job Overview

This position is responsible for work on designing and implementing custom mechanical and electromechanical products and sub-systems for Tricontinent Syringe pumps and other equipment. This position requires Product Development experience, knowledge of process capability, materials knowledge, troubleshooting aptitude, and understanding of fluidics.   • General Machining Skills working with metals and plastics (lathe and mill work)
  • Design Reviews and Design Verification Testing
  • Experience, exposure to designing plastic injection molded parts
  • General knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and their application
  • Ability to inspect parts using applicable measuring devices, Micrometers, Calipers, Optical comparator, etc.

The pay range for this role

is $100,000 - $120,000. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate’s skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
