Job description

Our client, a leading provider of wireless technology solutions, is seeking a highly motivated Product Development Engineer – SATCOM to join their dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for spearheading the development of new and existing satellite communication products, contributing deep expertise in Radio Frequency power amplifier circuits and associated technologies. This role will be pivotal in setting engineering goals, driving technological advancements, and supporting the company’s growth trajectory.

Focus :

  • Design and develop new SATCOM amplifiers and enhance features of existing products, from conceptualization to prototype build, leveraging expertise in RF power amplifier circuits, MMICs, GaN, and LDMOS devices.
  • Conduct simulations, schematic design, PCB layout, Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, and prototype testing, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Lead design reviews, troubleshoot technical issues, and propose innovative solutions to optimize product performance and reliability.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation for new products, including specifications, drawings, and sketches, to facilitate prototype and serial manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, manage project timelines, and ensure successful product launches within budgetary constraints.
  • Support the US VP of Military Programs in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in radar, electronic warfare, and communications domains.
  • Adhere to US military specifications and standards throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring compliance and reliability of SATCOM solutions.

Skill Set :

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the RF / Microwave industry, with a focus on designing, assembling, and testing RF power amplifiers for military applications.
  • Proficiency in RF / MW semiconductor circuit techniques, including GaAs, GaN, LDMOS, and MMIC technologies.
  • Strong familiarity with Class AB power amplifiers and their applications in telecommunications, radar, high-frequency, and jamming systems.
  • Experience with Microwave simulation tools such as ADS and proficiency in schematic and PCB layout software (e.g., PADS) and 3D modeling / CAD tools is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of signal processing using cavity and digital filters is desirable.
  • US citizenship / Green card holder status required due to the nature of defense-related projects.
