Job summary

ProAmpac is seeking a Product Development Engineer to lead new packaging projects from concept to commercialization at our Wisconsin facilities. You will manage trials, qualify materials, and optimize processes while coordinating with Innovation, Operations, Quality, Procurement, and customers to ensure timely launches.

The ideal candidate has a degree in engineering and 3+ years in packaging development, with strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive

Qualifications

• 3+ years in packaging manufacturing or product development.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Experience leading manufacturing trials and product development projects.
• Knowledge of packaging materials, adhesives, barrier technologies, and lamination processes.
• Ability to analyze technical data and make recommendations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage new product development projects against milestones and customer delivery timelines.
• Develop trial plans, testing protocols, and validation activities.
• Determine product structures and ensure accurate setup in systems.
• Collaborate with Quality to design trials and preventive controls.
• Lead production trials and troubleshoot manufacturing challenges.
• Analyze trial results and prepare post-trial documentation.
• Maintain product specs, run sheets, BOMs, and related records.
• Collaborate with Procurement to qualify raw materials.
• Develop material specifications and communicate processing requirements to suppliers.
• Support validation activities across manufacturing sites.
• Stay current on emerging materials, technologies, and packaging processing advancements.
• Drive continuous improvement focused on quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
