Job summary

MooreCo Inc. is seeking a Product Development Engineer in Temple, TX to drive new product concepts from idea through prototype and to production. You will conduct market research, design with SolidWorks, assemble and test prototypes, and collaborate with sales to create BOMs and pricing.

The role requires strong math, creativity, and problem-solving, plus excellent communication and teamwork to support sustainable product development and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Furniture industry-specific product experience advantageous.
• Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control protocols.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent math, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform market research to understand market requirements for new product development.
• Identifying the needs of the company and integrating market research to determine the needs and goals of new products.
• Conceptualizing new product ideas by using SolidWorks to design prototypes.
• Assemble prototypes for testing.
• Testing products throughout the design process to troubleshoot any potential problems.
• Sampling different materials, manufacturing processes, design tolerances, and other factors to find the best ones that suit the new product brief.
• Fine-tuning designs until they are ready for production. Sketch to launch leadership and communication skills.
• Working with customer service and sales to create bills of materials.
• Capturing costs and creating unit pricing.
• Working on sustainability of products.
• Analyzing new existing products to create assembly instructions and technical specification.
• Other duties as assigned
