Job summary

voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation is seeking a Product Development Engineer to transform customer ideas into production-ready solutions. You will translate needs into concepts, assess feasibility, and collaborate across teams to move from design to validation and commercialization.

Open levels include Engineer I–III, offering growth through design reviews, trials, and launch activities within a manufacturing context in Shelbyville, KY.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of product design, development, and validation.
• Reading and developing technical drawings with GD&T understanding.
• Experience with 2D/3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, CATIA).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer needs into engineering requirements and development plans.
• Evaluate materials, roll forming processes, tooling, tolerances and capabilities.
• Lead or support development activities from design through launch.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, QA, Supply Chain and suppliers.
• Contribute to customer meetings, proposals and commercialization plans.
• Develop manufacturing cost estimates covering labor, tooling, time, and materials.
• Balance value, manufacturability, cost, timing, quality, and safety on schedules.
