Product Development Engineer (D&R) – Sensor Integration

Job summary

EDAG Mexico seeks a Product Development Engineer (D&R) to package and integrate SDS components and optimize sensor view, structure, and service access. You will negotiate base-vehicle changes with Hyundai and manage structural integration tasks for various pods and enclosures.

You will drive DFMEA and beta/production releases, coordinate DFM for prototypes, and collaborate with CAE/EDS teams to ensure timely delivery and compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years automotive design/release experience in exterior trim, structures, or sensor integration.
• Proficiency in CATIA and PLM release experience (Enovia or equivalent).
• Experience taking components from concept through Alpha/Beta prototypes to production (PPAP).
• Knowledge of DFM across casting, molding, 3D printing, and machined prototype methods.

Responsibilities

• Package and integrate SDS components/modules within the vehicle, optimizing for sensor field of view, structure, and service/assembly access.
• Communicate and negotiate base-vehicle changes with OEM partner Hyundai, including structure, trim, electrical, and cleaning package interfaces.
• Engineer structural integration elements including roof pod, rear bumper/fascia, tailgate/interior package structures, plus A-surface enclosures.
• Integrate SDS modules (camera, radar, lidar, audio), cleaning system components, thermal management provisions, and driver monitoring system.
