Job summary

EDAG is seeking a Product Development Engineer (D&R) to lead the packaging and integration of SDS components and sensor systems into the vehicle. You will negotiate base-vehicle changes with Hyundai and drive structural integration, DFM assessments, and release processes from concept to production.

The role requires 5+ years in automotive design/release, CATIA proficiency, and experience with PPAP and DFMEA. On-site Novi, MI location with a temporary 8-month contract term.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of automotive design/release engineering experience.
• Proficiency in CATIA and release of components through a PLM system (Enovia or equivalent).
• Experience taking components from concept through Alpha/Beta prototype builds to production release (PPAP).
• Knowledge of DFM across casting, injection molding, 3D printing, and machined prototypes.
• Experience with supplier-facing design negotiation, DVP/DFMEA processes, and issue-tracking systems.
• 8 months contract.

Responsibilities

• Package and integrate SDS components/modules within the vehicle, optimizing for sensor field of view, structure, and service/assembly access.
• Communicate and negotiate base-vehicle changes with OEM partner Hyundai.
• Engineer structural integration elements (roof pod, bumpers, tailgate, etc.).
• Integrate SDS modules (camera, radar, lidar, audio) and related systems.
• Lead DFMEA/DFM activities and support Alpha/Beta/Production releases.
