DESCRIPTION
Package and integrate SDS components/modules within the vehicle, optimizing for sensor field of view, structure, and service/assembly access.
- Communicate and negotiate technical base-vehicle changes with OEM partner Hyundai, including structure, trim, electrical, and cleaning package interfaces.
- Engineer structural integration elements including roof pod, rear bumper/fascia, tailgate-mounted, fender pod, front bumper/fascia, front grill pod, and trunk/interior package structures, plus A-surface enclosures.
- Integrate SDS modules (camera, radar, lidar, audio), cleaning system components, thermal management provisions, driver monitoring system, and market-specific taxi meters.
- Manage issues in the client's Buganizer system through to closure, and support DFMEA management and close-out.
- Own parts through successful Beta/PP/Production release, ensuring on-time delivery and conformance to component, system, and vehicle-level requirements.
- Lead DFM assessments appropriate to prototype methods of manufacture (e.g., PU-poured, machined-from-billet, or 3D-printed parts).
- Support incoming vehicle measurement, first point of contact for manufacturing, root cause analysis, 8D problem-solving, and corrective action proposals.
- Prepare and present engineering Change Requests (CRs) when Hyundai base-vehicle changes are required.
- Support Alpha DVP completion and author/own the Beta DVP, tracking validation tasks through to completion and documenting results.
- Collaborate with the client's CAE team by sharing geometry, materials, and specifications to support structural, thermal, and aero analysis (CAE itself is out of scope for the vendor).
- Collaborate with the client's EDS team on harness routing and package space for service lengths.

- Experience taking components from concept through Alpha/Beta prototype builds to production release (PPAP).
- Working knowledge of DFM principles across casting, injection molding, 3D printing, and machined-prototype methods.
- Experience with supplier-facing design negotiation, DVP/DFMEA processes, and issue-tracking systems.
- 8 months contract
