Job summary

Jobtailor in Dearborn, MI is seeking an Electrical/Software engineer to define and develop high-performance automotive audio tuners and controllers from concept through production. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in automotive audio amplifiers development, implementation, and maintenance.
  • 1+ year experience with Agile methodologies and development tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • 1+ year experience integrating amplifiers into vehicle systems.
  • Knowledge of CAN and A2B protocols and CANoe.
  • 1+ year experience using Python for simulation and analysis.
  • Solid understanding of audio signal processing and acoustic measurement techniques.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

  • Define technical specifications, design, develop, and validate high-performance automotive tuners and audio controllers from concept through production.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, software developers, suppliers, and internal/external stakeholders to integrate audio controller solutions into vehicle systems.
  • Integrate audio controllers with other vehicle systems to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.
  • Manage suppliers through product design and release, including kickoff, timing, change control, platform readiness, DV, build support, issue resolution, software delivery, Production Validation, and post-launch support.
  • Perform initial audio system issue triage using CAN tools for launches and forward models, focusing on externals ECUs and DSP amplifiers.
  • Develop engineering documentation including system specs, standards, Design FMEA, reliability methods, testing protocols, and validation results.
  • Conduct testing and validation to ensure audio controllers meet performance and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with audio technology SMEs and provide corporate support for competitive assessments, troubleshooting, program delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor advancements in audio technologies and automotive audio trends to drive innovation.

Job description

  • Define technical specifications, design, develop, and validate high-performance automotive AM, FM, HD, SiriusXM, and DAB tuners and audio controllers from concept through production
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, software developers, suppliers, and other internal and external stakeholders to integrate audio controller solutions into vehicle systems
  • Integrate audio controllers with other vehicle systems to ensure compatibility and optimal performance
  • Manage suppliers through product design and release, including commercial kickoff, project timing, change control, platform readiness, DV, build support, issue resolution, software delivery, Production Validation, and post-launch product support
  • Perform initial audio system issue triage using CAN tools for launching and forward models, focusing on externally supplied ECUs and DSP amplifiers
  • Develop engineering documentation including system specifications, standards, Design FMEA, reliability methods, testing protocols, and validation results

  • 1+ year of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of automotive audio amplifiers
  • 1+ year of experience with product development methodologies, including Agile, and development tools like Jira and Confluence
  • 1+ year of experience integrating amplifiers into vehicle systems
  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN and A2B and associated tools such as CANoe
  • 1+ year of experience using simulation and analysis tools for amplifier development and evaluation, including Python
  • Solid understanding of audio signal processing and acoustic measurement techniques
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
