Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced automotive integration engineer in Michigan to act as the primary on-site liaison among GM Audio, Noise Management, and Bose engineering teams. You will support GM-led CCU integration through bench and vehicle checks, network and HMI diagnostics, and verification of Bose performance.

Your role includes maintaining Bose software and BIN files, coordinating sessions across campuses and plants, reproducing issues, and performing root-cause analysis with regression

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of relevant automotive embedded software and system integration experience.
  • Hands-on experience with in-vehicle and bench integration, log and trace analysis, root-cause investigation, and fix verification using automotive protocols and diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with software and calibration flashing, configuration management, release workflows, Jira, requirement-management tools, change management, and defined ASPICE or Agile engineering processes.
  • Strong customer-facing and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on-site and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and GM proving-ground credentials (MPG Level 2).
  • Approximately 10%–15% domestic and occasional international travel.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site liaison between GM Audio, Noise Management, and Bose engineering teams.
  • Support GM-led CCU integration through bench and vehicle checks, network and HMI diagnostics, and Bose verification.
  • Maintain approved environments with correct Bose software, calibrations, and BIN files.
  • Coordinate technical sessions and support GM campuses, Milford Proving Ground, and production sites.
  • Reproduce bench, vehicle, production, and field issues; capture logs, traces, and network data.
  • Partner on root-cause analysis and corrective action; verify fixes with regression evidence.
  • Maintain Jira records and advise on testing or development needs.
  • Escalate scope, timing, and integration risks through PM and change-control.
  • Clarify and communicate high-level system, diagnostic, and software requirements.
  • Support software, calibration, and BIN deliveries into GM systems.
  • Maintain configuration and release records and coordinate inclusion in VESCOM calibrations.
  • Track program variants, configurations, issues, risks, and dependencies.
  • Participate in PDT, requirement, design, and FMEA reviews; provide status and follow-up.
  • Deliver integration and diagnostic evidence packages and launch-support findings.

Job description

  • Serve as the primary on-site technical liaison between GM Audio and Noise Management teams and Bose engineering teams
  • Support GM-led CCU integration through bench and vehicle functional checks, network and HMI diagnostics, and Bose-defined performance verification
  • Maintain approved environments with correct Bose software, calibrations, and program- or variant-specific BIN files
  • Coordinate technical working sessions and support GM campuses, Milford Proving Ground, integration builds, Tier 1 locations, production plants, and early-production or field events as needed
  • Reproduce bench, vehicle, production, and field issues; capture logs, traces, network data, and diagnostics
  • Partner on root-cause analysis and corrective action; verify fixes and provide evidence for formal regression and release validation
  • Maintain complete Jira records and recommend additional testing or development based on findings
  • Escalate scope, timing, and integration risks through the Customer Program Manager and change-control process
  • Clarify and communicate high-level system, diagnostic, and software requirements
  • Support software, calibration, and BIN-file deliveries into applicable GM systems
  • Maintain configuration and release records and coordinate inclusion in applicable VESCOM calibration releases
  • Track program variants, configurations, issue status, risks, and dependencies
  • Participate in PDT, requirement, design, and FMEA reviews and provide status and action follow-up
  • Deliver integration and diagnostic evidence packages, issue/release/configuration records, program status, and launch-support findings
Requirements
  • Five or more years of relevant experience in automotive embedded software, system integration, ECU development, or supplier design and development
  • Hands-on experience with in-vehicle and bench integration, issue reproduction, log and trace analysis, root-cause investigation, and fix verification using relevant automotive communication protocols and diagnostic tools
  • Experience with software and calibration flashing, configuration management, release workflows, Jira, requirement-management tools, change management, and defined ASPICE or Agile engineering processes
  • Strong customer-facing and cross-functional communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on-site and manage multiple priorities
  • Valid driver's license required for GM proving-ground credentials, including MPG Level 2 training
  • Approximately 10%-15% domestic and occasional international travel required
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Prior resident engineering or OEM-site experience preferred
  • Automotive audio, active sound, or Noise Management experience preferred, including basic vehicle electrical troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with GM calibration and release environments preferred
