Job summary

Sapphire Recruitment is seeking a Product Development Engineer near Endwell, NY to lead hands-on prototyping and product development from concept to production-ready designs.

You will work with engineering and manufacturing teams to turn new concepts into functional prototypes, validate designs, and improve products through testing and iteration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 1+ years of related experience including internships or co-ops.
• Hands-on experience with product development and prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and refine prototypes for new product development.
• Use 3D printing, machining, molding, and other prototyping equipment.
• Partner with Design Engineers to develop and validate new products.
• Evaluate designs for form, fit, function, and manufacturability.

• Explore and implement new prototyping methods and technologies.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on product development, prototyping, testing, and problem-solving. You’ll work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to turn new product concepts into functional prototypes and production-ready designs.

What You’ll Do

• Build, test, and refine prototypes for new product development
• Use 3D printing, machining, molding, and other prototyping equipment
• Partner with Design Engineers to develop and validate new products
• Evaluate designs for form, fit, function, and manufacturability
• Coordinate prototype components and assemblies with internal teams and outside vendors

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 1+ years of relevant experience, including internships or co-ops
• Hands-on experience with product development and prototyping
• Experience with 3D printing/additive manufacturing and basic machining
• Creo or other 3D CAD experience preferred
• Molding experience is a plus
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in building, testing, and improving products
