Job summary

SBHonline, a fast-growing consumer products company, develops Home, Décor, Lighting, Tech, Toys, and Seasonal items sold through major national retailers. We seek a highly organized, creative Product Development & Sourcing Manager to lead new product development from concept through production.

The ideal candidate has extensive overseas sourcing experience, including China, strong negotiation and vendor management skills, and can drive projects across multiple departments in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in product development, sourcing, importing, or consumer products.
• Experience working directly with overseas manufacturers, particularly in China.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development projects from concept through final production.
• Source new products, suppliers, and manufacturing partners, primarily in China and other overseas markets.
• Communicate daily with overseas factories regarding pricing, samples, production schedules, packaging, and quality standards.
• Negotiate product costs, lead times, and supplier agreements to improve margins.
• Manage product samples, approvals, revisions, and production timelines.
• Collaborate closely with sales, design, and merchandising teams to develop products for major national retailers.
• Research market trends, competitor products, and emerging consumer product opportunities.
• Prepare costing sheets, product specifications, development timelines, and production documentation.
• Coordinate packaging development, product testing, compliance requirements, and manufacturing processes.
• Monitor project timelines to ensure products are delivered on schedule and meet customer expectations.
• Identify opportunities to improve sourcing strategies, operational efficiencies, and supplier performance.

Position Overview
