Job description

Role Overview

ABS Global, a Genus company, has an exciting opportunity! We are looking for a Product Development Analyst to support ABS’s elite Holstein genetics program and advance key product development initiatives. The position is responsible for managing relationships with partner herds, coordinating donor and sire selection, and facilitating embryo creation to support the development of next-generation bovine genetics. The Product Development Specialist has primary accountability for executing elite germplasm strategies, analyzing genetic data, and collaborating closely with Product Development, Genetic Services, and Product Line Management teams to drive genetic improvement and product innovation.

Ideal location for this position is DeForest, WI, but will consider remote in the U.S. for the right candidate.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $110,000 USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

You Will
  • Manage relationships with assigned partner herds
  • Coordinate and selection De Novo donors
  • Assist with selection and coordination of mating sires
  • Facilitate the process of creating embryos, working with cooperator herds and embryo labs
  • Investigate industry population files to support functions of sire and donor acquisitions
  • Provide analytical support of various Product Development or Genetic Service initiatives
  • Examine data to assist in tool development to support Genetic Service and other ABS functions
  • Provide support to Supply Chain and Product Line management with sire positioning and prioritization
  • Perform other duties and projects assigned by Product Development
Requirements
  • Masters in Dairy/Animal Science or related field or 4+ years of applicable experience in lieu of degree
  • Excellent computer skills with specific knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PC Dart or other dairy herd management software and basic analysis program background (SAS, R or relevant analytical program)
  • Experience in/or knowledge of elite Holstein genetic industry and pedigrees
  • Cattle reproduction knowledge
  • Valid Driver’s License
