Job summary

Skechers U.S.A., Inc. is seeking a Women’s Product Developer to oversee end-to-end apparel developments for global Skechers products.

You will lead style discussions, coordinate with Design, Costing, Technical Design, Materials and Product Merchandising to ensure technical requirements, costing, and quality standards are met for production by PO issue date. Responsibilities

  • Manage factory development timelines with Asia Development Teams.
  • Enter data into Flex PLM and Material Chart.
  • Review material development submissions with internal teams and relay approvals/rejections.
  • Review trim developments with internal teams and relay approvals/rejections.
  • Create and maintain material palette in Flex PLM.
  • Create and maintain seasonal binders with approvals for Trim, Fabric, AOP, and lab dips.
  • Lead the sample team in filing seasonal trims, fabrics, and bulk.
  • Coordinate with external and internal cross functional teams involved in product creation.
  • Order raw materials directly for prototypes and samples.
  • Develop each category from concept through to finished product with designers.
  • Review BOM at each development stage to ensure codes and vendor alignment.
  • Review color BOM prior to SMS request and production to ensure colorways are accurate.
  • Implement development critical path with manufacturers and deadlines.
  • Build strong vendor relationships and assess strengths.
  • Ensure timely calendar deliverables for Sampling, SMS, Production timing.
  • Review weekly WOOS from Vendors.
  • Participate and lead information sharing in all CFT meetings.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Women’s Product Developer is responsible for overseeing end-to-end developments related to their assigned categories for global Skechers Apparel product. This includes leading style development discussions with cross functional partners and ensuring timely execution through effective communication with vendors. Additionally, the Women’s Product Developer will collaborate closely with peers in Design, Costing, Technical Design, Materials and Product Merchandising teams to ensure all developments meet technical requirements, costing, quality standards, and are approved for production by PO issue date.


WHAT YOU'LL DO


  • Manage factory development timelines in partnership with manager and Asia Development Teams; proactively callout challenges.

  • Ensure proper data entry into Flex PLM and Material Chart.

  • Review all material development submissions with internal teams, relay approvals/rejections to Global Development teams.

  • Review all trim developments with internal teams, relay approvals/rejections to Global Development teams.

  • Create and maintain material palette in Flex PLM.

  • Create and maintain seasonal binders with approvals for: Trim, Fabric, AOP, and lab dips.

  • Lead guiding the sample team in proper filing of seasonal trims, fabrics, and bulk.

  • Constant communication with external and internal cross functional teams involved in the product creation.

  • Responsible for ordering raw materials directly for prototypes and samples.

  • Work closely with the designers to develop each category from initial concept through to finished product.

  • Responsible for reviewing BOM at each key development sample request stage to ensure all items have codes, are accurately linked, and align with primary vendor.

  • Responsible for reviewing color BOM prior to SMS request and production to ensure all colorways are called out accurately per FDS & TDS.

  • Implement development critical path with manufacturers, ensuring prototypes deadlines are adhered to.

  • Build strong factory partnership relationships, understand strengths and opportunities by vendor.

  • Responsible for timely execution of calendar deliverables to meet Sampling, SMS, and Production timing requirements.

  • Review weekly WOOS from Vendors.

  • Participate and lead information sharing in all CFT meetings.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Minimum 5+ Years experience in the Apparel Industry.


The pay range for this position is $90,000-$100,000/yr USD.
