You will collaborate with Design, Costing, Technical Design, Materials, and Merchandising teams to meet technical, cost, and quality standards, while managing data in Flex PLM and coordinating with factories and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage factory development timelines with Asia teams and address challenges.
  • Ensure data entry into Flex PLM and Material Chart.
  • Review material developments for accurate FDS and PLM uploads.
  • Review trim developments for accurate TDS and PLM uploads.
  • Create and maintain material palette in Flex PLM.
  • Maintain seasonal binders for trim, fabric, AOP, and lab dips.
  • Lead sample team filing for seasonal trims, fabrics, bulk.
  • Coordinate with internal and external cross-functional teams.
  • Order raw materials for prototypes and samples.
  • Collaborate with designers from concept to finished product.
  • Review BOM at key sample stages for codes and links.
  • Review color BOM before SMS and production.
  • Implement development critical path with manufacturers; meet deadlines.
  • Build strong factory partnerships; assess vendor strengths.
  • Ensure timely calendar deliverables for Sampling, SMS, Production.
  • Review weekly WOOs from vendors.
  • Lead information sharing in all cross-functional teams.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Product and Material Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end developments related to their assigned categories for global Skechers Apparel product. This includes leading style development discussions with cross functional partners and ensuring timely execution through effective communication with vendors. Additionally, the Product and Material Manager will collaborate closely with peers in Design, Costing, Technical Design, Materials, and Product Merchandising teams to ensure all developments meet technical requirements, costing, quality standards, and are approved for production by PO issue date.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Manage factory development timelines in partnership with manager and Asia Development Teams; proactively callout challenges.
  • Ensure proper data entry into Flex PLM and Material Chart.
  • Review all material developments for accurate FDS and Flex PLM upload.
  • Review all trim developments for accurate TDS and Flex PLM upload.
  • Create and maintain material palette in Flex PLM.
  • Create and maintain seasonal binders with approvals for: Trim, Fabric, AOP, and lab dips.
  • Lead guiding the sample team in proper filing of seasonal trims, fabrics, and bulk.
  • Constant communication with external and internal cross functional teams involved in the product creation.
  • Responsible for ordering raw materials directly for prototypes and samples.
  • Work closely with the designers to develop each category from initial concept through to finished product.
  • Responsible for reviewing BOM at each key development sample request stage to ensure all items have codes, are accurately linked, and align with primary vendor.
  • Responsible for reviewing color BOM prior to SMS request and production to ensure all colorways are called out accurately per FDS & TDS.
  • Implement development critical path with manufacturers, ensuring prototypes deadlines are adhered to.
  • Build strong factory partnership relationships, understand strengths and opportunities by vendor.
  • Responsible for timely execution of calendar deliverables to meet Sampling, SMS, and Production timing requirements.
  • Review weekly WOOS from Vendors.
  • Participate and lead information sharing in all CFT meetings.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of Apparel Development lifecycle, end-to-end.
  • Strong ability to identify potential future risk and proactively problem solve.
  • Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines and a self-starter.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and excellent follow through.
  • Computer proficiency; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), PLM (Product Life Management) system.
REQUIREMENTS:

The pay range for this position is $100,000-$115,000/yr USD.
