Job summary

Velvet Caviar is seeking a Product Developer who loves merging fashion with tech, working directly with factories and the Velvet Caviar founder to build one of the fastest-growing brands in phone accessories. Youll lead development on every new case collection we launch, turning concepts into production-ready tech packs.

Youll own the full development cycle, run sample rounds, and ensure each collection ships as envisioned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 4+ years of product development experience.
• Launching new products or styles track record.
• Experience with factories in China.
• Available in Brooklyn office Tuesdays & Thursdays.
• Detail oriented, organized, systems motivated.
• Strong communication, costing, and negotiation skills.
• Collaborative, able to lead team meetings.
• Creative thinker and problem solver.
• Able to conduct extensive research and present thoroughly.

Responsibilities

• Own the product roadmap for all new phone case collections.
• Work closely with design teams, factory partners, and leadership.
• Manage development of new case styles and accessories.
• Present samples and marketing handoffs.
• Support merchandising of new and existing products.
• Prepare and submit tech packs for new POs.
• Improve features and durability of mainline products.
• Manage packaging and PR box design updates with designers.
• Report quarterly on product landscape, trends and opportunities.
• Maintain organized systems for tracking developments.
• Source, screen, and negotiate with new vendors.

Velvet Caviar is looking for a Product Developer who loves merging fashion with tech, has experience working directly with factories, and wants to help build one of the fastest-growing brands in phone accessories. As the lead Developer for our mainline products, you\'ll lead development on every new phone case collection we launch.

You\'ll own the full development cycle - turning creative concepts into production-ready tech packs, running sample rounds with our factories, and making sure every collection ships exactly as envisioned. It\'s a fun, fast-moving product category with real room to grow, and you\'ll be right at the center of it.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Product Developer for our mainline collection, you\'ll own the product roadmap for all new case collection launches - working closely with our design team, factory partners, and directly with the Velvet Caviar founder and Product Director. Your primary responsibilities:

• Manage the development of all new phone case styles & accessory launches
• Communicate with the overseas factories daily on new developments
• Organize and present product samples and marketing handoffs
• Support merchandising of all new products along with existing
• Prepare and submit tech packs for new purchase orders
• Improve existing mainline products’ features and durability
• Manage brand collaborations’ licensing approvals & communications
• Manage packaging & PR box design updates with graphic designers
• Report quarterly on product landscape, trends, and opportunities
• Maintain an organized systems for tracking developments
• Source, screen, and negotiate with new vendors as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

• A Bachelor's degree of relevance is required
• Minimum 4+ years of product development experience
• Track record of launching new products and or styles
• Experienced working with factories in China, etc.
• Available in Brooklyn office every Tuesday & Thursday
• Detail oriented, very organized, and systems motivated
• Comfortable working in a fast paced work environment
• Strong analytical skills for factories and product samples
• Impeccable communication, costing, and negotiation skills
• Collaborative individual ready to lead team meetings
• Creative thinker and strong problem solver
• Able to conduct extensive research and present thoroughly
• Comfortable with mixed work hours responding to factories
• Capable working with Google Suite and Excel
• Bonus if skilled with Illustrator or Photoshop
