Job summary

The IRONMAN Group in Tampa, FL is seeking a motivated Product Developer to join our Merchandise team. You will lead product development for assigned categories from concept to market, collaborating with internal partners and external vendors to deliver high-quality products that align with our BE ICONIC brand and events.

You will manage calendars, reviews, and specifications, ensuring on-time execution while aligning with market trends, materials, and cost targets.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience in apparel construction, embellishment techniques, fabrics, trims, materials, and sourcing processes.
  • 3–5 years of product development, merchandising, buying, sourcing, apparel, or related retail experience.
  • Ability to interpret sales data and market trends to support product strategy.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day product development activities for assigned merchandise categories from concept through commercialization.
  • Coordinate line plans, sample reviews, artwork development, and vendor communication to support timely seasonal assortments.
  • Manage seasonal development calendars, milestones, vendor deliverables, and product launch timelines to ensure on-time execution.
  • Review and approve samples for quality, fit, construction, artwork placement, and brand consistency.
  • Create, manage, and distribute artboards, technical packages, and product specs to vendors.

We are seeking a highly motivated Product Developer to join our Tampa, Florida office, reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Development.

The Opportunity:

This role offers the opportunity to shape merchandise that connects athletes, supporters, and fans to some of the world’s most inspiring endurance events. As Product Developer, you will help bring product concepts to life across seasonal assortments, balancing creativity, commercial insight, brand consistency, and speed to market. Working closely with internal partners and external vendors, you will play a key role in developing high-quality products that reflect the energy of our events and strengthen the athlete and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own day-to-day product development activities for assigned merchandise categories, managing products from concept through commercialization.
  • Coordinate line plans, sample reviews, artwork development, and vendor communication to support timely execution of seasonal assortments.
  • Manage seasonal development calendars, proactively tracking milestones, vendor deliverables, and product launch timelines to support on-time execution.
  • Review and approve product samples for quality, fit, construction, artwork placement, and brand consistency.
  • Create, manage, and distribute artboards, technical packages, and product specifications to vendors, ensuring accuracy and alignment with brand standards.
  • Partner with vendors to develop products, source materials, evaluate capabilities, and drive continuous improvements in quality, cost, and speed to market.
  • Maintain product data integrity across systems and oversee product documentation, reporting, and digital asset management.
  • Analyze sales performance and customer feedback to inform future assortment and product decisions.
  • Stay current on market trends, vendors, materials, art styles, silhouettes, and product innovations, using insights to identify new product opportunities relevant to the IRONMAN brand and customer experience.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Working knowledge of apparel construction, embellishment techniques, fabrics, trims, materials, and sourcing processes.
  • Experience managing product development timelines across multiple seasonal collections.
  • Ability to interpret sales data and market trends to support product strategy.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and remain effective in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a professional atmosphere for employees, clients, and customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Merchandising, Marketing, Product Development, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in product development, merchandising, buying, sourcing, apparel, or a related retail environment.
  • Ability to travel to select events.
