Job description

At AWS Marketplace and Partner Services (AMPS), this Product Design role focuses on shaping how buyers and partners experience procurement, licensing, deployment, and operations. You will lead end-to-end design across traditional console workflows and AI-powered conversational and agentic interactions, working closely with product, engineering, business development, and sales.

As a Product Designer III based in Austin, TX (onsite), you will help define the modality and interaction model for each user context, from graphical interfaces to chat and hybrid experiences. You will set direction from concept through launch, ensuring solutions are coherent, accessible, and aligned with the AMPS design system.

What You’ll Do
  • Design complex buyer and partner journeys spanning procurement, licensing, deployment, and operations, selecting the appropriate modality such as console, chat, agent, or hybrid based on user context and task complexity
  • Own end-to-end design across significant AMPS product areas, covering both traditional web interfaces and AI-powered conversational experiences
  • Lead design strategy from concept to launch using AI-assisted prototyping and vibe coding to move quickly from idea to testable artifact
  • Design chat-based and agentic AI experiences, including dialogue flows, escalation patterns, transparency mechanisms, and failure states that keep users in control
  • Identify design opportunities, create functional prototypes to validate assumptions, and shape roadmaps with product and business leaders
  • Define interaction patterns, design standards, and reusable frameworks to maintain quality and consistency across graphical and conversational AMPS surfaces
  • Drive cross-functional alignment through design reviews, live interactive demos, and presentations to senior leadership
  • Evaluate AI-generated design and code output for accessibility, design system compliance, and interaction coherence
  • Mentor and coach designers via critiques, pair design sessions, and craft guidance, including AI-augmented workflows and conversational design patterns
  • Partner with engineering to preserve design intent through implementation across both traditional front-end and LLM-powered features
Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years of design experience
  • Experience delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
  • Experience with UX design for complex workflows
  • Experience partnering with stakeholders to plan and execute strategic programs
  • Experience gathering user data (such as usability studies and user research) and creating personas and journey maps
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing for B2B, marketplace, e-commerce, or enterprise software products
  • Experience designing AI-powered conversational or agentic experiences, including transparency, trust, and user control patterns
  • Experience using AI-assisted design and prototyping tools to move quickly from concept to testable artifact
  • Experience influencing product direction and presenting design strategies to senior leadership
  • Knowledge of cloud services, SaaS platforms, or software procurement workflows
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field
Team and Mission

The AMPS UX team is a passionate group of designers and researchers focused on raising the bar for marketplace and enterprise B2B experiences.
