Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is building how fans discover, sign up for, pay for, and stay with Disney+ and Hulu. On the Growth and Commerce team, you will help shape subscriber conversion and retention experiences used at global scale across web, mobile, and living room devices.
This is a Product Designer II (Commerce) role based in New York, NY (onsite), focused on taking on complex, often ambiguous problems across the subscriber journey. You will lead end-to-end design, working closely with product managers and engineers, and using evidence-based, measured outcomes to guide strategy.
What you’ll own
- End-to-end design for a specific domain within the subscriber growth journey, typically extending existing features or defining net-new capabilities from problem framing to shipped, measured experiences.
- Independent execution of the full design process, including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups, turning ambiguity into clear design direction.
- Design system evolution by contributing new components and patterns as growth surfaces evolve, including helping define deltas across web, mobile, and living room devices.
- Early collaboration with Product Managers and Engineers to help shape feature definition and scope, not only design implementation.
- Design delivery to engineering and QA, including specs, redlines, edge cases, and states across platforms and device types, plus support for junior designers doing the same.
- Accessibility built in from the outset, including contrast, focus order, screen reader support, and remote-based navigation, and efforts to raise the accessibility bar across the team.
- Experimentation support by helping define strategy for A/B and multivariate tests, then synthesizing results to inform not just iterations but broader team learnings.
- AI-assisted tooling as a core part of workflow for exploration, prototyping, and synthesis, including helping the team clarify where AI helps and where it does not.
- Mentoring more junior designers and presenting work regularly in critiques and reviews, including explaining the reasoning behind design decisions.
What you bring
- 3+ years of experience in product design, UX design, or a related design field, with a track record of shipping complex features end-to-end.
- A portfolio showing strong UX and visual craft, deep process, and measurable outcomes at scale.
- Strong proficiency in Figma, including component systems and advanced interactive prototyping.
- Solid grounding in user-centered design methodologies, applied independently.
- Working knowledge of accessible design practices and WCAG standards, with experience designing for accessibility from the outset.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools as a core part of the design process, with a clear point of view on value and limitations.
- Exceptional communication skills, including written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation abilities, plus experience mentoring or giving feedback to other designers.
- A degree or certification in UX Design, Product Design, HCI, Communication Design, or Graphic Design, or equivalent practical experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
