OpenAI’s Codex team is hiring a Product Designer to shape AI-powered coding tools. You’ll partner with engineers, researchers, and designers to define product direction, craft intuitive flows, and ship high-quality prototypes that turn ideas into working experiences for developers.

This role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid model (3 days in the office per week). As an early member of the team, you’ll influence design culture, evolve our design system, and help developers access

Qualifications

• Portfolio showcasing strong UX, UI, and interaction design skills.
• Experience shipping end-to-end product design for developer-facing tools.
• Ability to balance craft with fast iteration in a 0→1 environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to overall design and product direction of OpenAI products.
• Design and ship high-quality products and improvements from concept to visuals.
• Partner with engineering, product, research, and design to define strategy and tactics.
• Engage in user research to understand developers and refine products.
• Contribute to and evolve the design system.
• Help establish design culture and grow the team.
