• Work under limited supervision for routine situations.
• Assist and provide training to lower-level employees.
• Handle non-routine problems by performing analysis to understand root causes and requirements.
• Assess engineering requirements and translate them into technical blueprints, drawings, layouts, and simulation models using CAD/CAM/CAE software.
• Apply standard CAD/CAM/CAE techniques to digitize, edit, and revise engineering drawings for components, parts, and assemblies.
• Customize CAD/CAM/CAE tools to model complex or unusual designs.
• Create digital prototypes and run design simulations to verify reliability/safety and to optimize engineering processes.
• Collaborate with product and manufacturing process engineers and recommend component design changes based on digital prototyping and simulation outcomes.
• May provide materials lists and cost estimates.
