Accelerant is seeking a Product Designer to join the Agentic MGA squad. This role goes beyond visuals, shaping what is worth building and how it should work, by collaborating with Product and Engineering from early discovery to working prototypes.
You will help design AI-native workflows for brokers and underwriters, decide what AI should handle, and create experiences where AI assists but humans remain in control.
Accelerant is looking for a Product Designer to join our Agentic MGA squad.
This role reaches further into product than a typical design position. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working upstream, helping decide what is worth building, how it should work and how we know whether it has actually solved the problem.
You won’t be waiting for a finished specification or being handed something to make presentable. You’ll work alongside Product and Engineering while the problem is still being understood, speaking directly with users, shaping product direction and turning ideas into working experiences quickly.
This is also a genuinely AI-native design role.
Rather than adding AI onto existing interfaces, we’re designing experiences where AI agents can perform meaningful parts of a workflow while people review, correct and authorise their work.
That creates a different type of design problem: deciding what the agent should handle, what still requires human judgement, how confidence and reasoning should be communicated, and how users remain in control.
You’ll join Agentic MGA, the squad building technology that supports risk selection before an insurance policy is bound.
The product serves two key audiences: brokers submitting risk and underwriters assessing it.
Between them sits an increasingly agentic workflow that can help gather information, interpret documents, surface relevant data, identify missing information and prepare work for human review.
There is a huge amount of information available across submissions, pricing, appetite, claims, portfolio data and previous outcomes.
Your job is not simply to put that information on a screen. It is to decide what matters at each moment and make complex decisions easier to understand.
We are currently building two versions of the experience in parallel so we can put working products in front of users quickly, learn from them and use that evidence to shape the longer‑term product.
We’re looking for a strong Product Designer who combines design craft with product judgement.
You’re likely to be someone who is comfortable entering an ambiguous problem space, working out what matters and helping a team move forward without waiting for a perfect brief.
You should have experience designing complex professional workflows, ideally within insurance or a comparable environment such as financial services, healthcare, legal, compliance or enterprise software.
Experience with underwriting, broker platforms, quoting, submissions, claims, policy administration, risk tools or similar workflows would be particularly valuable.
You should also be comfortable with:
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone genuinely interested in how AI changes the nature of product design when software can take actions, interpret information and complete parts of a workflow itself.
Depth and quality of experience matter more than a specific number of years, but this is not an early‑career position.
Designers are trusted to make consequential product decisions rather than simply execute requirements created elsewhere.
You’ll be involved while the problem is still being framed, not after the solution has already been decided.
AI is part of both the products we build and the way our Product & Technology teams work.
You’ll work closely with brokers, underwriters and domain experts rather than designing from second‑hand requirements.
Specialty insurance involves fragmented workflows, large amounts of data and high‑value decisions. The problems are challenging, but the impact is measurable.
Work with talented colleagues across the US, Canada, UK and wider global organisation.
Accelerant is a data‑driven risk exchange connecting underwriters of specialty insurance risk with risk capital providers.
Founded in 2018 by experienced insurance industry leaders and technology experts, Accelerant was created to rebuild the way specialty risk is exchanged so it works better for everyone involved.
Today, the Accelerant risk exchange operates across more than 20 countries and 250 specialty products, and its insurers have been awarded an AM Best A- (Excellent) rating.
Our Product & Technology organisation is continuing to evolve towards an AI‑native model, using AI not only within our products but throughout the way software is designed, built, tested and operated.
