Job summary

Hitachi Vantara is seeking an early-career Product Designer to join our Product Design team in the United States. You will learn from experienced designers, product managers, and engineers while crafting useful, accessible digital products.

You will balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints, contribute to user research, wireframes, and prototypes, and help evolve our design systems across projects. Collaboration and curiosity are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate in Product Design, Interaction Design, UX/UI Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Portfolio demonstrating design thinking, problem solving, and design process.
  • Academic, personal, internship, or collaborative projects are welcome.
  • Good understanding of user‑centred design principles.
  • Familiarity with Figma or similar design and prototyping tools.
  • Basic understanding of interaction design, visual design, usability, and accessibility.
  • Ability to explain the reasoning and process behind design decisions, not only the final outcome.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Curiosity, openness to feedback, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment.

Role Overview

We are looking for an early-career Product Designer to join our Product Design team. This role is suited to a recent graduate or someone beginning their professional design career. You will work alongside experienced designers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to help create useful, intuitive, and accessible digital products. We believe good design starts with understanding people and problems, not simply producing interfaces. You will learn to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints while contributing to real product initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Fair Pay and Transparency

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is: $55K to $75K. Expected on‑target earnings: $60K to $80K. The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area.

Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara’s bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
