HuCapital, a New York area AI-powered community platform, seeks a Product Design Fellow to shape interfaces for a growing live product. Over three months, you’ll create wireframes, mockups, and UI assets while collaborating with engineers and researchers.

About the Role

The Product Design Fellow is an opportunity for a designer who wants real-world experience shaping the look, feel, and functionality of a growing AI-powered platform. Over three months, you will work alongside our Head of Innovation and a cross-functional team of engineers, UX researchers, and data engineers to design interfaces that serve a community of entrepreneurial creatives and professionals.This is hands-on, meaningful work. You will not be designing in a vacuum. Your contributions will show up in a live product used by real people, giving you the kind of portfolio material that demonstrates you can design for scale, collaboration, and impact.

What You'll Do

• Design Product Interfaces: Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and responsive UI designs that are aligned with HuCapital's brand guidelines and user needs.
• Develop and Maintain UI Assets: Build and contribute to a library of icons, buttons, and reusable components that support product features across the platform.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with engineers, UX researchers, and product managers to translate ideas and insights into interfaces that are both functional and visually compelling.
• Ensure Brand Consistency: Maintain visual identity across all designs and contribute to style guides and design documentation that keep the team aligned.
• Research and Iterate: Stay current on UI and UX trends, conduct light design research, and refine your work based on feedback, user insights, and evolving product priorities.

What We're Looking For

• Recently completed or currently pursuing a degree or bootcamp in Product Design, UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or comparable design tools.
• A portfolio that demonstrates UI design skills, design thinking, and attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of design principles, user experience, and responsive design.
• A collaborative, communicative mindset with the ability to give and receive feedback constructively.
• Comfortable working remotely, independently, and delivering under a deadline.
• Bonus: You have an interest in AI, community platforms, or early-stage product development.
