Job summary

SharkNinja in Needham, MA is seeking a Product Design Engineer II to own mechanical design from concept to production launch within a global NPD team.

You'll collaborate with Design, Electrical, Software, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain across the UK and China to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions while balancing performance, cost, and time-to-market.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Product Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Design Engineering.
  • Mechanical or product design experience in a New Product Development environment.
  • Strong command of plastics, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacture principles.
  • Track record taking products through multiple lifecycle stages, concept to production.
  • High proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, or comparable CAD.
  • Experience planning and executing verification and validation activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured engineering approach.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration across global teams.
  • An appreciation for electronics, software integration, and user experience in consumer products.
  • Nice to have: experience developing consumer products or household appliances.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies across the full product development lifecycle.
  • Own engineering deliverables from concept refinement through detailed design, validation, and production release.

  • Partner with Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, Software, Quality, and Manufacturing to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Support supplier engagement and manufacturing development to ensure successful industrialization.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement fixes for technical challenges across development and testing.
  • Support product verification, validation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and share engineering best practices across teams.

You’ll work from our Needham office as part of a global cross-functional team, partnering daily with Design, Product Development, Electrical Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain colleagues in the UK and China. What You'll Do
