Job summary

Selectek in Hampton, GA seeks a Product Design Engineer II to take concepts through production. You will learn and apply drafting and production processes while working under supervision of an experienced engineer.

The role includes standard calculations, analysis, and 3D CAD design work. You will design and model with AutoCAD and SolidWorks, create 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and provide technical support to manufacturing and field installations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of design experience and 3D design software expertise.
• Open to working on shop floor with production team to help with adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects directed by more experienced engineers.
• Design, draft and model using AutoCAD and SolidWorks for existing and new products.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, specifications and BOMs.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and field installation.
• Develop engineering skills per Engineering Training procedure 230.50.
• Create samples of working models for demonstrations.
• Improve usability of existing and new products.
• Revise processes and drawings through VIP Systems.
• Begin tests in the engineering lab under supervision and learn ANSI standards.

Our client is a leader in the utility equipment industry and has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Product Design Engineer. The Product Design Engineer II is a mid-level engineering position. In this role the engineer will learn and apply Drafting and Production processes while working under the supervision of an experienced engineer. The work will include standard computations, analysis, and 3D CAD design work. The position will take projects from conception through production helping throughout the cycle.

Essential Responsibilities

• Work on projects assigned or directed by more experienced Engineers.
• Design, draft and model using AutoCAD and Solidworks for existing and new products.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, Specifications and Bill of Materials.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and field installation.
• Develop engineering skills based on engineering procedure 230.50 Engineering Training.
• Create samples of working models for demonstration.
• Improve usability of new and existing products.
• Revises processes, documents and drawings through Value Improvement (VIP) Systems.
• Begin to perform tests in the engineering lab under supervision, learn ANSI Standards and how they relate to testing.

Required

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering 4 plus years of design experience 3D Design Software expertise.
• Preferably Solidworks Open to working on shop floor with production team to help with adjustments.
