Job summary

Southern States Co-Op is seeking an entry-level Product Design Engineer I in Georgia. You will learn and apply SSL Drafting and Production processes under supervision, performing standard computations, analysis, and 3D CAD design work.

The role develops design skills, supports manufacturing and field installation, and progresses through engineering training and VIP processes. Bachelor's in engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 0-2 years of related work experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks.
• Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects assigned or directed by more experienced Engineers.
• Design, draft and model using AutoCAD and Solidworks for existing and new products.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, Specifications and Bill of Materials.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and field installation.
• Develop engineering skills based on engineering procedure 230.50 Engineering Training.
• Create samples of working models for demonstration.
• Improve usability of new and existing products.
• Revises processes, documents and drawings through Value Improvement (VIP) Systems.
• Begin to perform tests in the engineering lab under supervision, learn ANSI Standards and how they relate to testing.

Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

• High Voltage Switch experience.
• Southern States Co-Op or Intern experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in FEA computer analysis.
