Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino, California, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead iPhone integration and architecture efforts.

You will conceive, design, and bring into production components for high-volume manufacturing, collaborating with Industrial Design, Hardware Engineering, Antenna, and Reliability teams to optimize performance and user experience. Required expertise includes DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, and plastic/metal part design, with strong communication skills and willingness to travel

Qualifications

BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing, with focus on high-volume manufacturing.
Demonstrated ability in plastic and metal part design including material selection.
Experience with technical graphical communication of concepts, ideas, and solutions.

Responsibilities

Lead iPhone integration and architecture efforts with internal teams and contract partners.
Demonstrate creativity in problem solving and adapt quickly to new technical areas.
Promote innovation to improve Apple's hardware performance and user experience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Industrial Design, Hardware Engineering, Antenna, Reliability, Packaging, Safety and Marketing.
