Job summary

ITT Cannon Connectors N.A. in Irvine, CA is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Product Design Engineer with entry to mid-level experience to join the team.

You will design components and assemblies, create engineering BOMs, and collaborate with Product Management and Operations to support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Experience with CREO, GD&T, and ASME Y14.5 is preferred, and periodic travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–5 years of electro-mechanical product design experience, preferably in connectors.
• Experience with CREO Parametric 3D modeling and documentation.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Strong multitasking and time-management abilities.
• Excellent communication and cross-department collaboration.

Overview

Electro-Mechanical Product Design Engineer with entry to mid-level experience in the Mil-Circular or rectangular connector industry to join the ITT Cannon Connectors N.A. team.

Responsibilities

• General engineering product setup, design and management
• Engineering BOM creation, documentation creation and updates
• Design of new components and assemblies
• Manage and plan multiple activities related to Engineering, Product Management and Operational support
• Multi-functional team member representing Product Engineering
• Testing support and overview within a Product Evaluation Lab

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1-5 years of experience in Electro-Mechanical product design, preferably in connectors
• CREO Parametric 3D Modeling/Documentation experience
• ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing, including GD&T
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Highly self-motivated and a willingness to make a difference and learn
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with different departments.
• Working knowledge of MS Office products such as Excel, Word etc...

Preferred

• Experience in electrical connectors and the Aerospace & Defense industry.
• Experience in Electrical Cabling, Fiber Optics/Cabling or High Speed Data transfer a plus
• Knowledge in the use of high-performance thermoplastics, aluminums and copper alloys and the manufacturing requirements needed to utilize them
• Knowledge in MIL-DTL, Mil-STD and similar industry specifications and requirements.
• Experience in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacturability (dfM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) principles.
• The ability to travel periodically (up to 10%)
