Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Data Scientist on the Applied Product team to help shape a data-driven product culture for consumer and enterprise products. You will define north-star metrics, design robust experiments, and build dashboards used across the company to answer critical product questions.

The role is based in San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA with a hybrid model (3 days in the office) and relocation assistance for new employees.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a quantitative role navigating ambiguous environments.
• Proposed, designed, and run rigorous experiments using SQL and Python.
• Defined, implemented, and operationalized feature- and product-level metrics.

Responsibilities

• Embed with the product development team as a trusted partner to improve the product and drive growth.
• Define and interpret A/B tests to answer critical questions about model and UX changes.
• Establish a data-driven product culture by defining, tracking, and operationalizing metrics at feature, product, and company levels.
• Develop and socialize dashboards, reports, and other self-serve data tools for the team and company.
