Job summary

eNGINE in Pittsburgh seeks a Data Product Owner to guide a 10–12 person data team through a large-scale financial data transformation. You translate business needs into actionable data-engineering work, own backlog priorities, and collaborate across Finance, Operations, and Technology to deliver value.

You will establish data-ownership standards, support Master Data Management, and drive governance across data models, lineage, and metadata with Snowflake experts.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data governance or data management.
• Experience in banking/financial services.
• Strong knowledge of MDM, data quality, governance.
• Experience translating business requirements into data-engineering deliverables.
• Familiarity with Snowflake or a similar enterprise data platform.
• Experience managing backlogs and facilitating grooming sessions.
• Strong communication and cross-functional stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Technology to understand data needs and translate them into actionable requirements.
• Lead backlog grooming and refinement sessions while establishing priorities for the data engineering team.
• Provide day-to-day direction to a team of approximately 10–12 professionals without formal reporting lines.
• Establish standards for data ownership, quality, consistency, and governance.
• Support Master Data Management initiatives involving client, product, and securities data.
• Define and document data models, mappings, lineage, metadata, business rules, and data-quality controls.
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects working in Snowflake environments.
• Resolve data-quality, ownership, and governance issues across business and technical teams.
• Present recommendations, priorities, and project updates to senior stakeholders.
• Support the adoption of enterprise data-governance tools and processes.

Our client is seeking a Data Product Owner to lead priorities for a team of 10–12 data professionals supporting a large-scale financial data transformation initiative. This person will act as the bridge between Finance, Operations, and Technology, translating business needs into clear direction for data engineers. While this is not a formal people-management role, the Data Product Owner will guide the team’s workload, facilitate grooming sessions, and drive delivery.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data stewardship, data product ownership, or a related discipline.
• Professional experience within banking, financial services, Treasury, or capital markets.
• Strong knowledge of Master Data Management, data quality, data governance, and data stewardship.
• Experience with data mapping, modeling, lineage, metadata, and business glossaries.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical deliverables for data engineering teams.
• Familiarity with Snowflake or a comparable enterprise data platform.
• Experience managing product backlogs, facilitating grooming sessions, and prioritizing technical work.
• Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Collibra, Erwin, Informatica, or comparable governance and data-modeling tools.
• Previous hands-on experience with conceptual or physical data modeling.
• Experience supporting government-focused financial programs.
• Background in large-scale data transformation or modernization initiatives.
