Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company (US) seeks a cost analyst to optimize expenses for HDE thermal products, supporting Lawrenceburg, TN and Nuevo Laredo, MX with travel up to 10%. The role collaborates with Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing to meet cost targets across the product lifecycle.

The candidate will build cost models, perform should-cost analyses, and present findings to leadership while driving global cost-saving programs. This is a hands-on finance/engineering hybrid position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of engineering experience; finance or costing experience a plus.
• Knowledge of Modine products, fabrication and cost drivers preferred.
• Strong analytical skills; proficient with costing tools and ERP systems.

• Develop and maintain detailed cost models for HDE products across materials, labor, overhead, tooling and logistics.
• Conduct should-cost analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing to integrate cost targets into design and production.
• Support LAW & NLM operations during plant start-ups and transfers with cost guidance.
• Monitor actual vs. estimated costs, perform variance analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare cost reports at milestones and drive continuous cost-saving initiatives across HDE globally.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Responsible for cost analysis and optimization of HDE thermal management products. This role ensures cost targets are achieved throughout the product lifecycle, supports global projects, and provides direct support to Lawrenceburg, TN (LAW), and Nuevo Laredo, MX (NLM) operations with some travel required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain detailed cost models for HDE products, including materials, labor, overhead, tooling, and logistics
• Conduct should-cost analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify cost reduction opportunities
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing to integrate cost targets into design and production decisions
• Support LAW & NLM operations during plant start-ups, product transfers, and new launches by providing cost analysis and guidance
• Monitor actual vs. estimated costs, perform variance analysis, and implement corrective actions
• Participate in make-vs-buy evaluations and lifecycle cost assessments for HDE components
• Prepare and present cost reports at key project milestones to leadership and cross-functional teams
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving programs across HDE operations globally
• Provide on-site support at LAW & NLM as needed (travel up to 10%)
• Participate in manufacturing process audits, and support plant finance through standard hour studies

REQUIRED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field
• Minimum 2-3 years of Engineering experience. Experience in finance or product costing is a plus
• Preferred: Knowledge of Modine products and manufacturing processes (fabrication, machining, brazing) and cost drivers
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in costing tools and ERP systems
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office Excel and AI tools
• Excellent communication and ability to work cross-functionally in a global environment
