Job summary

VitalPath in Maplewood, MN is seeking a Product Builder II to perform medical device assembly and in-process inspections on complex builds, including microsopic examination of components. This onsite role supports first shift operations (4x10 hour days) with safety and quality at the forefront.

You will use basic tools, adhere to SOPs, and contribute to cleanroom documentation while maintaining efficient production output. A high school diploma and cleanroom experience are required.

  • Experience with microscope-based inspection and basic tools.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and adhere to SOPs, work instructions, assembly methods, product handling methods, and safety requirements.
  • Produce quality products and act as quality control during output inspections.
  • Perform core manufacturing tasks on assigned team or project.
  • Manufacture parts on intermediate to complex builds (e.g., multilumen and steerable catheters).
  • Identify materials and use production/inspection tools, with proper material identification.

Product Builder II – Maplewood, MN

About The Position

Function as an intermediate member of the production team whose goal is to perform a variety of complex medical assembly and processing tasks building product to meet the schedule supporting the customer demand, operate tools and equipment, inspect in-process components, and complete documentation as required. All Product Builders shall always perform their activities with Safety, Quality and Integrity, and inform the Lead and Supervisor of any nonconforming product.

Work Location / Shift
  • This position requires the employee to be onsite at our Maplewood, MN location.
  • Shift: First shift, 4x10 hour days, Monday – Thursday 4:00am – 2:30pm.
  • VitalPath does not offer relocation assistance for this position.
Responsibilities
  • Follow and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, assembly methods, product handling methods, Good Documentation Practices, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety requirements.
  • Produce quality products and act as Quality Control when examining output to ensure 100% adherence to requirements and perform in‑process unit inspection throughout the build processes.
  • Perform single or a limited number of core tasks of routine nature on an assigned team or project.
  • Manufacture part families and/or operations on intermediate to complex builds that include but are not limited to multilumen and steerable catheters.
  • Identify materials, use a microscope, and use production and inspection tools and equipment needed for product builds, applying proper identification of materials and products as needed.
  • Perform line clearance activities.
  • Arrive on time, stay on task, and contribute to better output and production goals.
  • Maintain a clean general work area during the shift and perform proper cleaning at the end of each shift.
  • Take initiative to find work when necessary.
  • Complete forms as defined by industry standards.
  • Act as quality control to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least one year of medical device assembly experience in a cleanroom.
  • Experience with assembly inspection equipment using a microscope.
  • Experience using basic tools, micro tooling, and equipment for assembling and inspecting product (tweezer, cutter, pliers, ruler, micrometer, etc.).
  • Ability to understand basic instructions in English.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and promote teamwork among others.
  • Demonstrated understanding of shop floor paperwork.
  • Ability to set up and use simple manufacturing equipment to complete processes.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to perform the job with limited supervision.
  • Basic math skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic computer skills: Excel, Word.
  • Understanding of basic blueprints/specifications.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 13485 and cGMP.
Compensation Package
  • Hourly range: $20.92 – $22.46.
  • Eligible to earn an annual performance bonus based on meeting VitalPath’s bonus performance plan.
