Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or assembly role.
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to work with small tools and components.
  • Basic understanding of quality control principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations and ISO standards related to medical device manufacturing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join a small team supporting a growing medical device startup. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Product Builder. As a Product Builder, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring the highest quality standards are met for our products. In all actions, this person shall demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

What will you be doing?
  • Assemble and build orthopedic implants and instruments according to established procedures and specifications.

What will you need to be successful?
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field is preferred.
Experience
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or assembly role
  • Prior experience in orthopedic implant manufacturing or medical device assembly is preferred.
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to work with small tools and components.
Knowledge

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

Compensation

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $44.250-$66.500 USD annually.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. In addition to base pay, we provide competitive bonus and benefits, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, parental leave, and generous PTO, paid company holidays annually and 8 hours of Volunteer time and a variety of wellness offerings such as EAP.
