Job summary

Velosity Forest Lake is hiring a 3rd Shift Product Auditor to audit products during manufacturing and improve First Time Right and On-Time Delivery. This on-site role runs Sunday–Thursday, 11:30pm–7:30am at our Forest Lake location.

Pay ranges from $21.04 to $31.56 per hour with a 5% quarterly bonus target. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability, 401(k) with match, PTO, holidays, and parental leave.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Able to work legally in the United States.
  • 3 years injection molding and related value-add processes; 1 year in product inspection or quality assurance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; reporting; proficiency with Microsoft Office and IQMS.

Responsibilities

  • Audit products in operations (molding and second ops) to ensure conformance and support First Time Right and On-Time Delivery.
  • Coordinate with molding and second ops to ensure alignment and effective action.
  • Provide coaching to operations on quality decisions and document requirements.
  • Coordinate and train rework and MRB orders; manage work-order status and audit completed products.
  • Maintain concise audit records and communicate findings in shift handoffs.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering for continual improvement; monitor effectiveness.
  • Lead by example in quality, regulatory/safety processes; maintain a safe, clean work area.

Overview

Velosity Forest Lake is seeking a 3rd Shift Product Auditor who will audit products in operations to ensure product conformance during manufacturing to improve First Time Right and On-Time Delivery performance. This is an on-site position supporting our Forest Lake location.

Shift: Sunday – Thursday, 11:30pm – 7:30am

Pay: The typical pay range for this role is $21.04 – $31.56 per hour. This role is eligible for a 5% quarterly bonus target.

Essential Duties
  • Work cooperatively with all team members to achieve organizational objectives and KPIs (key performance indicators).
  • Perform product-focused audits in operations (molding and second ops) on critical, high-cost, or products with known quality concerns (Corrective actions, MRBs, Complaints, RMAs, etc.) as directed by supervisors and leads across all shifts. Coordinate with personnel in both molding and second ops to ensure alignment between functional areas.
  • Provide clarification and coaching to operations personnel in both molding and second ops to make quality product decisions while coordinating with QA and sustaining engineering roles to ensure product quality requirements are clearly documented and universally understood.
  • Coordinate and train rework and MRB orders, ensuring instructions are adequate, coaching personnel to ensure expectations and requirements are understood, communicating work-order status to product auditors on other shifts, ensuring orders are completed effectively and efficiently, and auditing completed products for successful operations.
  • Provide concise records of product audits and findings for daily shift reports and communicate relevant product information during shift handoffs.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to identify opportunities for continual improvement, implement solutions, and monitor effectiveness.
  • Lead by example in compliance with quality management, regulatory/legal, and safety processes and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • Preferred three years of experience in injection molding and related value-add processes, with a minimum of one year in product inspection or quality assurance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; effective business correspondence and reporting; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and IQMS; ability to coach employees with limited molding experience; participation in continual improvement projects.
  • Injection molding technology and processes, including identification of cosmetic features of injection-molded and value-add processes; working knowledge of effective problem-solving processes.
  • Ability to perform daily tasks safely; work independently with limited supervision; work effectively with all team members to prevent quality escapes and drive continual improvement and prevent recurring issues/non-conformances.
Physical & Mental Demands
  • Walking is required in office and shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Correctable eyesight and good depth perception required. Ability to sit for long periods; occasionally climb and balance. Able to lift 40 pounds and move objects safely using proper equipment. Dexterity with hands.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them in a timely manner; ability to make decisions with limited information.

Work Environment

This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. The role may require movement throughout the shop and office and exposure to airborne contaminants and chemical odors typical in an injection molding/precision machining shop.

Eye and ear protection are required in certain locations. Closed-toed/slip-resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
