Job summary

Substack is seeking a Product Analytics professional to help the product team make better decisions. You will join as the fourth member of the small, scrappy team embedded in Product, taking ownership of product and user insights.

You will proactively partner with PMs and leadership to inform strategy, define metrics, and share clear updates across the company. Strong SQL, BI tool experience (Snowflake/Periscope), and A/B testing expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as analyst or in a similar technical role.
• Advanced SQL knowledge and familiarity with BI tools (Snowflake and Periscope).
• Strong understanding of product growth concepts and frameworks.
• Solid data visualization and written/verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of A/B test design and analysis.
• Strong product sense and understanding of Substack’s product and market.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of continuously improving understanding of the product and user base.
• Partner with PMs and leadership to inform short-, medium-, and long-term strategy.
• Help define useful metrics and set clear goals.
• Share regular updates with teams and across the company.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve logging, ETL, and data ergonomics.
