ROLE PURPOSE

Own the product direction and delivery roadmap for Wealth Brokerage capabilities spanning client and teammate experiences, brokerage operations, workflow, data and analytics. Translate business outcomes, regulatory obligations and technology opportunities into prioritised epics, features and measurable releases. This Product Manager balances business, technology, risk and design priorities to deliver secure, resilient and differentiated capabilities for Wealth Brokerage. The role works closely with Product Owners, engineering, architecture, operations, data, cyber security, risk, legal and compliance to convert strategic objectives into an executable product roadmap. The role must operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels. This includes defining product outcomes, analysing client and operational needs, shaping investment priorities, resolving delivery constraints and working directly with Agile teams through discovery, Planning Increment (PI) planning, build, testing, release and adoption. The successful candidate will understand modern application delivery in a regulated financial-services environment. Relevant technology includes .NET and C# applications, SQL Server data platforms, Microsoft Azure services, Python-based data and automation solutions, low-code platforms and workflow/case-management capabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Develop and maintain a product vision and strategic roadmap for Wealth Brokerage capabilities, aligned to business objectives, client needs, operational priorities and technology strategy.
  2. Research and analyse the needs of Wealth Brokerage clients, advisers, operations teams, supervisors and other target users. Translate findings into clear product outcomes and prioritised opportunities.
  3. Assess market, competitor, regulatory and technology trends relevant to brokerage products and servicing. Convert analysis into practical recommendations, investment choices and roadmap decisions.
  4. Partner with Product Owners and Agile delivery teams to define epics, features, acceptance outcomes and non-functional requirements. Maintain a healthy, prioritised backlog that is ready for delivery.
  5. Set PI vision, objectives and priorities. Participate in PI planning, refinement, demonstrations, retrospectives and other Agile ceremonies as appropriate.
  6. Lead cross-functional discovery across business, operations, user experience, architecture, engineering, data and risk partners. Use prototypes, process maps, data analysis and user feedback to validate solutions before significant investment.
  7. Shape solutions implemented through .NET and C#, SQL Server, Azure services, Python, low-code platforms and workflow technologies. The Product Manager is not expected to be the primary developer, but must be sufficiently technically fluent to challenge assumptions, understand dependencies and make informed trade-offs.
  8. Define product requirements for workflow and case-management solutions, including intake, routing, prioritisation, approvals, work queues, service-level tracking, exception handling, notifications, audit history and management reporting.
  9. Ensure product design supports secure access, appropriate segregation of duties, data protection, records retention, traceability and evidence required in a regulated brokerage environment.
  10. Collaborate with architecture and engineering to address modernisation, cloud migration, application rationalisation, integration, data lineage, observability, resiliency, disaster recovery and technical debt.
  11. Coordinate dependencies across APIs, batch and file-based interfaces, event-driven integrations, enterprise data platforms, vendor solutions and downstream reporting consumers.
  12. Obtain required alignment and approvals from legal, compliance, privacy, information security, fraud, model risk, operational risk, architecture and other governance partners.
  13. Define measurable product outcomes and key performance indicators. Use telemetry, workflow metrics, operational data, client feedback, defect trends and adoption measures to adjust priorities and demonstrate value.
  14. Plan releases and adoption with readiness, communications, training, support and operations partners. Ensure client-facing and teammate-facing content is accurate and usable.
  15. Manage product risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies. Ensure Product Management Lifecycle processes are followed and that control, audit and remediation commitments are completed by agreed deadlines.
  16. Communicate product strategy, roadmap, decisions, delivery status and risks clearly to executives, business stakeholders and technical teams.
Technology and domain expectations
  • .NET / C# Ability to work with engineering teams delivering web applications, APIs, background services, and integrations using the Microsoft application stack.

  • Microsoft Azure Familiarity with cloud-native and PaaS concepts, identity, networking, security, monitoring, resiliency, deployment, and cost considerations.
  • Python Familiarity with Python uses in data processing, analytics, automation, controls, and integration. Ability to define business outcomes and governance expectations for such solutions.
  • Low code Experience shaping governed low-code solutions, including appropriate use cases, citizen-development boundaries, environment management, supportability, and transition to engineered solutions when scale or complexity requires it.
  • Workflow Experience defining end-to-end workflow, work queues, case management, business rules, human approvals, exception paths, controls, auditability, and operational metrics.
  • Integration Understanding of APIs, messaging, batch, SFTP/file transfer, vendor connectivity, and enterprise integration patterns sufficient to identify dependencies and delivery risk.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelors’ degree in business, engineering, design, or technology field; or related field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  2. Five or more years of banking, financial services, or other relevant work experience.
  3. Three or more years of product, analysis, technology, and/or design experience.

  5. Equal enthusiasm for high-level strategic planning and tactical daily execution.
  6. Experience defining/driving vision of experience programs and/or partnership based programs.
  7. Experience defining and delivering large-scale online initiatives.
  8. Proven ability to use data analytics, research and testing methodologies to drive business decisions, diagnose problems, and recommend action plans to resolve issues.
  9. Ability to lead cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  10. Comfortable managing concurrent projects in a fast-based, results-driven environment.
  11. Comfortable with ambiguity, leading work autonomously, and making independent decisions.
  12. Excellent skills in presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation.
  13. Experience in roles requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills & the creation and delivery of succinct presentations to explain and sell plans/vision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Product Manager or Product Owner experience supporting Wealth, Brokerage, Trust, capital-markets, investment or adviser platforms.
  • Experience modernizing Microsoft-stack applications, including .NET/C#, SQL Server and Azure-hosted services.
  • Experience with workflow automation, case management, work queues, low-code governance or operational process redesign.
  • Experience with Python-enabled analytics or automation and with product governance for data-driven solutions.
  • Experience with APIs, event or message-based integration, SFTP/file-based integration, data platforms and third-party vendor connectivity.
  • Experience delivering within security, privacy, legal, compliance, audit and operational-risk control frameworks.
  • Experience working with distributed onshore and offshore teams.
  • Certified SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, Pragmatic Institute, CSPO, PSPO or equivalent product/agile qualification.
Leadership behaviors and measures of success
  • Client and teammate focus: starts with real Wealth Brokerage needs rather than technology looking for somewhere to live.
  • Outcome ownership: measures value, adoption, risk reduction and operational improvement, not merely feature completion.
  • Technical judgement: makes sensible build, buy, reuse and modernisation trade-offs with engineering and architecture partners.
  • Risk discipline: integrates controls and evidence into product delivery rather than treating governance as a late-stage surprise.
  • Decisive collaboration: creates alignment, documents decisions and keeps delivery moving when priorities or constraints conflict.
  • Roadmap credibility: maintains a transparent, evidence-based roadmap with explicit dependencies, sequencing and success measures.
