Job summary

Harnham is seeking a Senior AI Product Engineer to own customer-facing AI experiences in a fast-growing Bay Area team. You will translate LLM capabilities, agents, and RAG into polished, production-ready features that customers actually use.

You'll collaborate with Product, Design and AI/ML teams, bringing strong backend skills in Node.js and Python to build streaming, real-time interfaces and robust AI experiences across the stack. On-site in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years building AI-powered products in production.
• Backend experience with Node.js and/or Python.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, RAG, structured outputs and prompt engineering.
• Exposure to agent frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain or custom agent runtimes.
• Experience building streaming or real-time user experiences.
• Strong product instincts and collaboration with Product, Design and AI/ML teams.

Senior AI Product Engineer | Up to $250K Base + Equity | Bay Area

I'm hiring a Senior AI Product Engineer to join a fast-growing technology company building the next generation of AI-powered enterprise software.

This is a product engineering role, not an AI infrastructure position. You'll own customer-facing AI experiences end-to-end, taking the capabilities of LLMs, agents and RAG systems and turning them into polished products that customers actually use.

What you'll be building:

• AI-powered features across React/TypeScript, Node.js and Python
• Agentic workflows and multi-step AI experiences
• RAG-powered product experiences and intelligent automation
• Streaming and real-time AI interfaces using SSE/WebSockets
• Human-in-the-loop workflows, feedback mechanisms and AI quality signals
• Reusable patterns for AI state management, streaming and evaluation

What I'm looking for:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years building AI-powered products in production
• Solid backend experience with Node.js and/or Python
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, RAG, structured outputs and prompt engineering
• Exposure to agent frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain or custom agent runtimes
• Experience building streaming or real-time user experiences
• Strong product instincts and the ability to work closely with Product, Design and AI/ML teams

Experience with AI evals, Braintrust, MCP, feedback/annotation tooling or enterprise security/compliance products would be a bonus.
