Job summary

Boston College in Massachusetts is seeking a full-time Producing Technical Director for the Theatre Department to lead production operations. Reporting to the Chair, you will manage budgets, supervise build and rigging, and guide staff and student workers across productions.

The role requires MA or MFA in Technical Direction or equivalent experience, knowledge of theatre production, and strong computer and interpersonal skills. Evening/weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• MA or MFA in Technical Direction or equivalent experience.
• Experience teaching and working in a college/university theatre program.
• Working knowledge of theatre production: scene construction, rigging, stage management, carpentry, lighting, props, costumes, sound, projections.
• Knowledge of Actors Equity rules and production management experience.
• Excellent computer and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety and fire codes is a plus.
• Evening and weekend work is required.
