Job summary

Boston College's Theatre Department seeks a full-time Producing Technical Director to oversee production budgets, building and rigging, and to supervise staff and students. The role reports to the Theatre Department Chair and requires planning rehearsals, productions, and production meetings, plus mentoring students.

The successful candidate will possess an MA or MFA in Technical Direction or equivalent experience, plus knowledge of theatre production areas, Equity rules, and production

Qualifications

• MA or MFA in Technical Direction or equivalent experience in a college/university setting.
• Demonstrated experience teaching and working in a college/university theatre program.
• Working knowledge of theatre production: scene construction, rigging, stage management, carpentry, lighting, props, costumes, sound, and projections.
• Knowledge of Actors Equity rules.
• Production management experience.
• Excellent computer and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety and fire codes is a plus.
• Evening and weekend work is required.
