KIFI Local News 8 in Idaho Falls seeks a driven Producer to join our fast-paced newsroom. You will direct reporters and photographers, coordinate breaking coverage, and respond to viewer inquiries while maintaining a calm, organized approach.

A degree in journalism or mass communications is preferred; strong writing and verbal skills are essential. We value leadership, multi-tasking, and a flexible schedule as part of delivering compelling content daily.

Responsibilities

• Direct reporters and photographers to complete assigned tasks
• Coordinate breaking coverage and beat checks with police and fire agencies
• Respond to viewer inquiries and monitor developing stories
• Lead the newsroom team with a calm, organized approach during high-pressure situations
• Participate in scheduling and content planning to deliver compelling stories

KIFI Local News 8, located in beautiful Idaho Falls, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Producer to join our staff. Here’s your opportunity to work with a #1 news team. The ideal candidate has strong writing and organizational skills. We’re a fast-paced newsroom that emphasizes breaking news, enterprise reporting, and severe weather coverage. Duties include directing reporters and photographers to complete assigned tasks, responding to viewer inquiries, and making regular "beat" calls to police and fire agencies to stay on top of breaking news, possess a winning attitude and want to be an integral part of the "big story".
A degree in journalism, mass communications or equivalent experience is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, strong attention to detail, and possess the ability to stay calm under pressure and handle stress is a must. Must be a good team leader, proficient in multi-tasking and have a flexible schedule.
