Job summary

Albertsons Safeway is seeking a Superintendent for the Auburn, WA warehouse. You will lead daily operations, ensuring safety, productivity, and regulatory compliance while driving cost-effective performance for retail store support.

The role requires strong supervisory skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage union relationships, develop staff, and meet performance targets.

Qualifications

• 4 year college degree preferred or 4-5 years progressive warehouse operations management experience.
• Proven track record of cost reductions and increased productivity.
• Experience in a union environment with strong labor relations skills.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and labor standards.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day to day warehouse operations to service the needs of retail stores within department budget.
• Communicate effectively with employees and hold them accountable.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and adherence to company work rules.
• Collaborate with supervisors, drivers, and retail personnel to implement cost-saving measures.
• Determine equipment and manpower requirements for daily operations.
• Handle labor relations and grievances with unions and agents.
• Develop staff and promote a positive work environment.
• Monitor warehouse performance targets and audit controls.
