Hy-Vee is seeking a Produce Assistant Department Manager in Brooklyn Park to partner with the Department Manager in keeping the produce department fresh, well-stocked, and visually appealing. You will lead, train, and step in to support the team, ensuring a great customer experience every day.

The role emphasizes strong knowledge of produce and customer service, with opportunities to grow professionally within a company that values its people. The position is hourly and onsite at Hy-Vee stores.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; food safety training encouraged.
• Over one year of similar or related experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in cool environments as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting every customer warmly and sharing knowledge of produce items.
• Ensure department standards: freshness, rotation, replenishment, and proper refrigeration temperatures.
• Set and reset sales areas to promote products and keep the department tidy.
• Coordinate and troubleshoot operations in the salad bar and juice bar area.
• Stay current on produce topics such as pricing, seasonal availability, and market trends.
• Unload product, verify invoices, and log deliveries as needed.
• Assist with inventory and product orders at the Produce Manager's discretion.
• Support the fruit and holiday basket program and train new employees.
