Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company is hiring for a Produce/Floral Associate to maintain stock and quality control, ensuring fresh fruits and vegetables meet company standards. You will operate pallet jacks, rotate stock, assist customers, and uphold food safety practices in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 required to perform duties.
• Food Handler certification required.
• On-the-job training typically provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintains full stock conditions on produce and floral display racks, tables, and shelves.
• Operates pallet jack to unload product from warehouse trucks and reloads trucks with return items.
• Ensures dated product is stocked, rotated, or discarded properly if unsold.
• Inspects product for quality and maintains quality control and food safety standards.
• Collects empty cardboard boxes and other trash and places into bailer.
• Assists customers by responding to price checks and locating product.
• Promotes product sales through suggestive selling initiatives.
• Greet customers and respond to questions and complaints with a service mindset.
• Maintains clean, safe and sanitary environment by following safety procedures.
• Practices high sanitary standards for handling raw and uncooked food products.
• Cleans, assembles, and prepares equipment for operation; checks working order.
• Takes safety measures when using equipment and tools; uses sharp tools for opening boxes.
• Maintains awareness of hazards and reports issues to a supervisor.
