Job summary

Orcas Island Market is seeking a Produce Associate for a full-time, year-round role. You will prepare fresh fruits and vegetables, trim, wash, package, rotate stock using FIFO, and maintain attractive displays while upholding quality and safety standards.

You will assist customers with questions and special requests, provide friendly service, and help with receiving and organizing deliveries. Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40–50 pounds; evening, weekend, and holiday

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation with ability to answer questions and assist shoppers.
• Attention to detail in trimming, labeling, and rotating stock.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English in person and in writing.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40–50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Produce preparation: wash, trim, cut, package, and label fruits and vegetables.
• Ensure freshness, rotate stock using FIFO, and maintain displays.
• Monitor quality and remove damaged items; follow safety guidelines.
• Assist with receiving, inspecting, and organizing deliveries.
• Provide friendly customer service and answer product questions.
