Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Customer Service Associate to create outstanding experiences in our store environment. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales goals, promote corporate brands, and ensure safety, quality, and customer satisfaction across the produce department and store.

You will answer questions, make product recommendations, and maintain accurate labeling, stocking, and temperature controls.

Qualifications

• Must be able to handle stressful situations
• Excellent communication skills are required
• Knowledge of basic math is expected
• Current food handlers permit once employed

Responsibilities

• Model the 3A’s of Friendly: acknowledge, assist and appreciate customers
• Promote Corporate Brands to customers
• Promote trust and respect among associates
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products
• Know products in the department and respond to questions with suggestions
• Assist with produce platters/trays preparation
• Inform customers of produce specials
• Recommend items to meet customers' needs
• Prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness; take action as needed
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager

• Stay current with ads including seasonal and specials
• Maintain proper temperatures and temperature logs
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs
